Meet Julie Johnson
My name is Julie, and I make fused or kiln-formed glass. I have been making fused glass since 2003.
I use sheet glass that is made in the USA. Cut, grind and fire it into tropical-themed glass art. Each piece is made entirely by me and made to order unless the item pictured is available. Products I have are safe for food and clean easily by hand washing with dish soap.
I am located in Hawaii, and my inspiration comes from the beautiful Hawaiian flowers, sandy beaches, swaying palms, and brilliant blue ocean. I use many colors in my designs so that you feel warm and happy using my plates, bowls, soap dishes, or night lights.
I have three kilns, a few grinders, glass saw, and a large variety of molds to form the dishes and glass, of course! Each item will take a minimum of 12 hours in the kiln.
I make all of my products so you can customize your design to fit your home or personality. I have many colors to choose from. The glass I use is in sheet form, but I used powdered and spaghetti-shaped glass in my work, so it gives me more options to add those small details that make the piece even more unique. I can make multiple items of a design, each one a little different because I freehand cut the glass by scoring and breaking it. These items are exceptional for weddings, anniversaries, and conventions, and will ship safely to you. I have done this since I became a business in 2009.
